Digital preservation and archiving
CJES articles are preserved across multiple independent dark and light archives to guarantee long-term access, even if the journal ceases publication.
Archives
- PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) — distributed light archive for small and medium-sized journals
- CLOCKSS — dark archive that triggers public release in the event of catastrophic loss
- Institutional backups held by the Department of Research and Innovation, with off-site mirror copies
URL persistence
Every article carries a Crossref DOI that resolves to its canonical URL. If the journal domain changes, DOI records are updated so that prior citations continue to resolve indefinitely.
File formats
Articles are archived in both PDF/A (preservation-grade PDF) and JATS XML (machine-readable structured format), ensuring both human readability and machine extractability persist indefinitely.
